Image contains restricted content

What this means

TikTok flagged your product image as containing restricted content — typically nudity, weapons, alcohol prominently displayed, or imagery that violates community guidelines.

Why this happens

TikTok's image classifier is more aggressive than other channels. Even tasteful product photography can trip it: a swimsuit on a model, a wine bottle, a kitchen knife.

How to fix it

  1. Re-shoot or re-source product imagery without contextual triggers — e.g., the knife alone on white, not in use.
  2. For categories TikTok permits but treats sensitively (swimwear, wine), use product-on-white shots only and avoid lifestyle backdrops.
  3. Some categories are outright banned on TikTok Shop (firearms, vaping). Don't try — exclude them from the TikTok feed.
  4. If you believe the flag is wrong, submit a manual review request — TikTok responds within 1–3 business days.
