warning EMOJIS_OR_CONTROL_CHARACTERS_I

Emojis or control characters in feed text

What this means

Emojis, ASCII control characters, or unrecognizable symbols (R, TM, copyright marks) are not permitted in titles or descriptions and cause field-level rejections.

Why this happens

TikTok Shop / TikTok Catalog Manager validates titles against character limits, casing rules, and content policies — promotional language, all-caps, special characters, or keyword-stuffed titles are rejected.

How to fix it

  1. Trim title to the channel's character limit (most: 150–200 chars).
  2. Use Title Case — capitalize first letters of major words, not entire words. Remove ALL CAPS phrases.
  3. Remove promotional language: 'SALE', 'Best Quality', 'Free Shipping', 'Buy Now', etc.
  4. Format consistently: Brand + Model + Key Specs + Color/Size + Pack.
  5. Re-submit; title updates typically propagate within 1–4 hours.
