Title exceeds 255 characters

What this means

Snapchat caps product titles at 255 characters. Titles longer than that get truncated in display and can trigger a warning that demotes the product in catalog ranking.

Why this happens

Long titles often come from auto-generated SKU descriptions where every spec is concatenated (brand + product + size + color + material + collection + year). Some platforms also include the full breadcrumb path in the title field by default.

How to fix it

  1. Audit titles longer than 255 characters and identify the source pattern.
  2. Restructure: lead with brand and product name, drop the rest into the description.
  3. Keep the keyword shopper would actually type within the first 75 characters.
  4. Apply a feed transformation that truncates at the last full word before the limit.
  5. Re-ingest and confirm the warning clears.
