What this means

Microsoft prohibits ad or site content that attempts to mislead users or could be reasonably perceived as deceptive, fraudulent, or harmful. This is a broad enforcement category.

Why this happens

Bait-and-switch pricing where landing page shows different price than feed; fake countdown timers; spoofed brand pages; phishing-style call-to-action; or deceptive shipping/return claims. Also caught: "free trial" that auto-enrolls into recurring billing without disclosure.

How to fix it

  1. Sync feed pricing to landing-page pricing in real time
  2. Remove fake urgency, countdown, and stock-pressure widgets
  3. Display full terms (shipping, returns, recurring billing) clearly
  4. Avoid impersonating other brands or platforms in copy/imagery
