Excessive promotional language (reason 47)

What this means

The ad uses excessive or non-allowed promotional language such as superlatives, urgency claims, or hype phrases that violate editorial style guidelines.

Why this happens

Microsoft Merchant Center validates titles against character limits, casing rules, and content policies — promotional language, all-caps, special characters, or keyword-stuffed titles are rejected.

How to fix it

  1. Trim title to the channel's character limit (most: 150–200 chars).
  2. Use Title Case — capitalize first letters of major words, not entire words. Remove ALL CAPS phrases.
  3. Remove promotional language: 'SALE', 'Best Quality', 'Free Shipping', 'Buy Now', etc.
  4. Format consistently: Brand + Model + Key Specs + Color/Size + Pack.
  5. Re-submit; title updates typically propagate within 1–4 hours.
