critical price mismatch

Price mismatch between feed and landing page

What this means

The price in your feed doesn't match what Google's crawler sees on your product's landing page. Google blocks the product to protect users from a bait-and-switch experience — the price they click on must match the price they see.

Why this happens

Most often this is a stale feed: your site updated to a sale or markdown, but your feed export hasn't refreshed yet. Other causes: tax/VAT formatting differences (feed has €19.99 net, page shows €23.99 with VAT), currency mismatches, or A/B-tested pricing on the landing page.

How to fix it

  1. Check the actual landing page price right now — is it different from your feed?
  2. Increase the feed refresh frequency. Daily is the minimum; hourly is safer for stores with frequent promotions.
  3. Make sure your feed price matches the price Google's crawler will see — including or excluding tax, in the customer's currency, with the same currency symbol.
  4. Add structured data (schema.org/Product with offers/price) to the landing page so Google has a second authoritative source.
  5. If you run A/B price tests on the landing page, exclude Googlebot from the test or pause Shopping ads during the test.
