All variations have zero quantity

What this means

Error 942 fires on multi-variation listings where every variant has zero stock. eBay won't let a listing go live with no purchasable variants.

Why this happens

A feed exported quantities of zero across the board because of a stock sync glitch, an out-of-stock cycle for a slow-moving SKU, or because the source system uses 'available' rather than 'on-hand' inventory and the available count was zero during the export window.

How to fix it

  1. Identify variation listings where every variant has 0 quantity.
  2. If the product is genuinely out of stock, end the listing rather than leaving it at zero.
  3. Audit your inventory source - many platforms have available vs on-hand counts that diverge.
  4. Set an out-of-stock control in Seller Hub so listings auto-pause rather than reject.
  5. Resubmit when at least one variant has stock.
