Account suspended

What this means

Error 841 (and the related 640 for non-payment) means the seller account is suspended and cannot list new items. All listing API calls will be blocked until the suspension is resolved.

Why this happens

Suspensions come from unpaid invoices, defect-rate violations (late shipments, INRs), seller standards drops, or policy violations (counterfeit complaints, prohibited items, IP infringement). Even temporary suspensions block new listings.

How to fix it

  1. Log into Seller Hub and read the suspension notice for the specific reason.
  2. If unpaid invoices: settle the invoice immediately.
  3. If defect-rate: improve fulfillment and respond to open cases - it can take 30-60 days to recover.
  4. For policy violations, contact Customer Service and provide documentation.
  5. Pause your feed pipeline until the account is reinstated.
