Error 8009 — Cannot reassign child SKU

You tried to move a child SKU from one parent to a different parent. Amazon doesn't permit this in a single operation.

Catalog reorganization where you wanted to regroup variants. Amazon requires deleting and recreating, not direct reassignment.

1. Delete the child SKU first (set quantity to 0, then submit Delete).
2. Wait for the deletion to process.
3. Recreate the child SKU under the new parent.
4. Inventory and reviews don't transfer — plan accordingly.
