Error 8002 — Insufficient catalog data to create the ASIN

Amazon needs more product attributes than you supplied to create a new ASIN. The category requires more required fields than your feed provides.

Amazon's product types each have a list of category-specific required attributes (e.g., apparel needs size, color, material; electronics needs model number, voltage, etc.). Missing any required field for the chosen product type causes 8002.

1. In Seller Central → Inventory → Add a Product → search for a similar ASIN to identify your product type.
2. Download the latest 'Inventory Loader' or category template from Seller Central → Inventory → Inventory Templates.
3. Compare your feed columns against the template's REQUIRED tab — fill in everything marked 'required' for the product type.
4. Resubmit. The processing report will identify any remaining missing fields by name.

• Using a generic listing template across all categories — most categories have unique required fields
• Confusing 'required for catalog match' (must include for matching to existing ASIN) with 'required for new ASIN' (different set)
