Error 5661 — Brand on prohibited list

The brand has been added to Amazon's prohibited brand list — typically due to repeated counterfeit complaints, IP violations, or policy issues. No sellers (including the brand owner) can list under this brand until it's reinstated.

Amazon's IP and Notice and Takedown processes flag brands with chronic IP issues. Once on the prohibited list, all listings under the brand are suspended pending appeal.

1. If you're the brand owner, contact Amazon Brand Registry support and submit an appeal with proof of ownership and IP rights.
2. If you're a reseller, you cannot bypass this — list a different brand or different product.
3. Reinstating a prohibited brand typically requires legal-level engagement with Amazon's Notice and Takedown team.
