Error 5010 — Brand name doesn't match Amazon's catalog record

What this means

Amazon already has the product under a specific brand name in its catalog, but you submitted a different brand value. Amazon won't let you overwrite the brand on an existing ASIN.

Why this happens

Either (1) you mis-typed the brand, (2) the catalog has a different spelling/casing, or (3) you're trying to list a counterfeit version under a different name. Amazon enforces the catalog record.

How to fix it

  1. Search the ASIN on amazon.com and copy the brand exactly as displayed (including spacing, casing, and punctuation).
  2. Update your feed's brand attribute to match the catalog record.
  3. If the catalog record is wrong, only the brand owner via Brand Registry can correct it — submit a Brand Registry case.
  4. Resubmit the feed; takes 1–4 hours to process.
