Error 18002 — Product detail page already exists, can't create duplicate

What this means

Amazon already has a detail page for this product (matched by GTIN/UPC/EAN). Instead of creating a new ASIN, you should list against the existing one.

Why this happens

Amazon's catalog is shared across sellers — when multiple sellers offer the same product, they share one detail page. Submitting a new ASIN for a product that already exists triggers this code.

How to fix it

  1. Search amazon.com or sellercentral.amazon.com for the product's GTIN/UPC.
  2. Find the existing ASIN, then list against it with 'Sell on Amazon' or via your feed using the existing ASIN.
  3. If the existing detail page has incorrect content and you can't edit it, file a Catalog Dispute via Seller Central → Help → Catalog Issues.
  4. If you legitimately have a different product with a colliding GTIN, your manufacturer may have reused the GTIN — apply for a new GTIN or exemption.
