Error 13045 — Image must be a photograph, not an illustration or render

What this means

Some Amazon categories don't accept 3D renders, illustrations, sketches, or computer-generated images for the main image — they require a photograph of the actual physical product.

Why this happens

Categories like consumables, electronics, and fashion require buyers to see the real product. Renders can hide imperfections or misrepresent finish, so Amazon prohibits them in those categories.

How to fix it

  1. Re-shoot the actual physical product on a white background with a real camera or phone.
  2. If you only have renders (e.g., pre-launch product), check whether your category allows renders — some (toys, software) do; most don't.
  3. Lifestyle 3D renders are sometimes allowed in positions 2–9 even if the main image must be a photograph.
