Error 13002 — Missing or invalid product identifier

Amazon's processing report flagged your listing with code 13002, meaning the standard product identifier (UPC, EAN, GTIN, ASIN, or ISBN) is either missing or doesn't match Amazon's catalog. The listing won't go live.

One of three things: (1) the identifier field was blank, (2) the value was supplied but Amazon couldn't match it to an existing catalog entry, or (3) you submitted a UPC for a product Amazon already has under a different ASIN, creating a conflict.

1. Verify the product's GTIN/UPC/EAN with the manufacturer. If you don't own the brand, the manufacturer's identifier is authoritative.
2. If the product is brand-new to Amazon, you may need to apply for a GTIN exemption before listing — required for private-label and bundled products.
3. If Amazon already has your product under another ASIN, list it via the existing ASIN instead of creating a new listing with your UPC.
4. Check that the field you're populating matches the schema: product_id_type tells Amazon what kind of identifier you're submitting (UPC vs EAN vs ASIN).
5. Resubmit the feed; Amazon's processing reports update within 4–24 hours.
