40%

topline revenue drop that prompted the switch from Feedonomics

Company overview

Conversion Giant is a Los Angeles digital advertising agency and GoDataFeed partner, running paid advertising, remarketing, product ads, social, search, SEO and CRO for B2B, B2C and ecommerce brands. Its client Blue Rail Hobbies retails hobby brands — model trains, cars, trucks and buildings.

Story snapshot

An agency inherited a client that had lost 40% of topline revenue under a previous feed provider. Conversion Giant rebuilt Blue Rail Hobbies' Google Shopping feed on GoDataFeed — Shopify primary plus custom FTP feeds — and returned the campaigns to profitability.

The problem

A client down 40% after a previous feed provider

Blue Rail Hobbies came to Conversion Giant after results stalled with Feedonomics. Taking over, the agency found a feed that uploaded but wasn't optimized — and, critically, no control over how ad dollars were being spent. The result was a set of management decisions that cost the retailer 40% of its topline revenue.

[With a previous provider] a feed was uploading, but the previous managers hadn't controlled how ad dollars were spent.

Conversion Giant

When a client transitions away from another feed agency mid-campaign, the clock matters: the feed has to come back up fast, accurately, and without the errors that cascade through Google Merchant Center.

The solution

Shopify primary feed, custom FTP feeds, validated before submission

Conversion Giant integrated Blue Rail Hobbies' site with GoDataFeed's Shopify App — pulling a primary feed from Shopify and supplementing it with multiple custom product data feeds via FTP. GoDataFeed's validation process surfaced issues that could have chain-reacted in Google Merchant Center and resolved them before submission.

A Shopify primary feed supplemented with custom FTP feeds, validated before it reached Merchant Center.

Support kept the rebuild moving: within two hours of submitting a ticket, the team had what it needed to proceed — no roadblocks, no waiting on an account rep. Beyond the initial setup, GoDataFeed worked the feeds for longer-term optimization, not just a fast relaunch.

The impact

Campaigns back up, driving revenue

The effort to make Blue Rail Hobbies' Google Shopping campaigns profitable worked. GoDataFeed's validation preempted the errors that could have cascaded through Merchant Center, and the campaigns came back up — this time driving impressions and revenue instead of burning budget.

For Conversion Giant, the value was the transition speed: a client rebuilt accurately and fast, on a feed the agency could control directly.

Looking forward

A repeatable partner for client transitions

Conversion Giant treats GoDataFeed as the tool for onboarding clients moving off another feed agency — getting feeds back up accurately and efficiently, and keeping advertisers profitable as they grow.
