The scheduled fee adjustments to Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) services took effect today. The changes, according to Amazon, were made to reflect Amazon's costs of fulfillment, transportation and customer service.
Amazon also rolled out additional fulfillment fees for oversize products and a new dimensional weight threshold in response to recent changes in shipping industry standards.
"Pick and pack" and weight-handling fees have increase across all product sizes and weights effective immediately. New dimensional threshold fees also kick in today for large standard-size non-media units weighing more than 1 lb. and all small, medium, and large oversize units. Amazon uses dimensional weight to determine both fulfillment fees and fees for the optional inventory placement service if the dimensional weight is greater than the unit weight.
Future Fees Increases
Monthly inventory storage fees will increase for standard-size units and decrease for oversize units. This change will take effect ion March 1 and you should start seeing the higher fees on your bill by April.
